Dr. Basil Al Sharef is a German- and Swiss-board-certified Leading Senior Consultant Spine and Scoliosis Surgeon with more than 20 years of international experience in Germany, Switzerland, and Dubai. He graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kiel, Germany.

Dr. Basil worked at the most prestigious spine surgery and scoliosis centers in Germany and Switzerland as a Consultant and Senior Consultant Spine Surgeon until 2019. He started his career in the UAE in December 2019 as a Consultant Spine Surgeon and has worked with renowned hospitals in the capacity of Head of the Spine Surgery Department.

Dr. Basil treats all spinal pathologies in adults and children across all spinal regions. He specializes in surgeries for patients with spinal instabilities (e.g., slipping vertebrae, fractures), deformities of the spine (e.g., scoliosis, hyperkyphosis, and spondylolisthesis), surgical treatment of compressive pathologies of the spinal cord and spinal nerves (e.g., tumors, narrowed spinal canal, disc herniation), as well as degenerative diseases (e.g., osteochondrosis, spinal canal stenosis) across all spinal regions. Furthermore, one of his primary areas of expertise is complex reconstructive spine surgery and revision spine surgery in all spinal sections.
